The University finally sent the missing information to us today. However we will have to delay our start-up until Tuesday November 3. The University requires that all swimmers be registered with our governing body (CIMS), which will take most of the week to complete. CIMS requires that MidCan Masters provide a Co-VID restart plan that must be approved by them. Members of the executive have been working on this plan in consultation with the university but needed the final details to complete it. This should be done in the next day or two. You should receive the registration package with details also in the next day or two. Please complete this as quickly as possible if you plan to begin swimming soon. If you don’t receive one by Thursday, contact email@example.com
We are hoping to be in the pool 8:30 pm Tuesday October 27 2020
There will be water!!
Good news – the Joyce Fromson Pool is reopening on October 20th !
This week we heard from Simon Wang (Director | Facilities, Faculty of Kinesiology and Recreation Management) that the pool is reopening.
The executive is hopeful we can have our COVID Plan, and registration & waivers completed by October 22nd for a first swim.
We are waiting for the Pool’s Covid protocol and waiver forms from Simon Wang.
We will be limited to 3 swimmers per lane and will need to maintain physical distancing on deck and in the water.
Masks, when not in the pool, and a facilities use card will required. Simon Wang will provide the cards once each of us has signed the University Waiver.
Our swim times will be Tues & Thurs 8:30 – 9:55 pm as usual.
We were not able to get Saturday AM for now due to reduced pool hours – so we will be swimming Sunday 10:15 am – 11:45 am instead.
The executive is meeting again October 15th to hopefully finalize a package to send out to everyone.
Mark your calendars for swimming on Thursday October 22, 2020 8:30 pm.
