Annual
General Business Meeting:
AGM
Saturday, October 26th, 2013 @ 10:00 a.m AM at the
Department of Physical Education Student Lounge in the
Frank Kennedy Centre.
The
breakfast will be potluck and members are asked to bring
their favourite breakfast food to share with others
attending the meeting. A sign up sheet for breakfast items
has been posted on the bulletin board in the pool. Coffee
will be provided by the club.

Annual Pop Sidwell Swim Meet - November
23, 2013
The
date for the Pop Sidwell has been finalized - November 23,
2013. This year will be the 38th year of the meet.
For
members who wish to swim an entry form is attached. Please
give the form with your fees to Bob
Groff.
For members who do not wish to compete,
the club needs volunteers for timers and swim meet
officials. The skills and knowledge needed are easily
acquired at training sessions (see below). We are often
short of the following positions:
• Clerk
of Course / Data Entry
•
Stroke
and Turn Judges; Two or more qualified
•
Meet
Manager.
•
Timers
(we need 18)
Should
you have any questions about volunteering for the meet, Bob
Modrcin or Bob
Groff will be able to provide more information.
Officiating will increase one's understanding of swimming
techniques, and the sport in general. Most importantly, it
is fun! We hope you will join us in continuing the
tradition of the Pop Sidwell Swim Meet.
Swim
Manitoba has scheduled Officials Clinics for the 2013-2014
season to help prepare the swim community for the upcoming
swim meets hosted by Swim Manitoba and other clubs. All
Clinics will be held at Pan Am Pool (boardroom) and are
open to everyone, but advance registration is required.
Please note that Swim Manitoba will have swimmer account
fundraising opportunities for officiating and volunteering
at Canadian Age Group Championships - July 23 - 28, 2014 in
Winnipeg.

FINA World Masters Championships
July
25th to August 10th, 2014 Montreal
will host the 15th FINA World Masters Championships.
Disciplines include Swimming, Water Polo, Diving, Open
Water, and Synchronized Swimming. The swimming events will
have training July 31 to August 2, 2014, with the
individual events held August 3rd to 9th, 2014. More

Canadian Masters Swimming Championship
The
2014 Canadian Masters Swimming Championship will be held on
the May
16-19, 2014 long weekend
at the City of Windsor's brand new Family
