As you probably know the U of M pool will be closing for its annual fall
cleaning on August 27th..

Our last swim is Thursday Aug 26 following which we'll be going to the Keg for Refreshments and Nachos

After the closure, our first swim is Saturday Sept 18. Pal will be back from his holiday then.

During the closure, some of us are meeting on Tues and Thurs evenings and
Saturday ams to do inline skating, cycling, running, or walking.
Please join us.

The schedule is as follows:

Saturdays (August 28, Sept 4 & Sept 11) @
9:00 am meet at Birds Hill Park - East
beach parking lot.  After the inline skating, cycling etc. you can swim in
the lake and then have breakfast at G’News in Oakbank, or Pineridge Hollow.

Tuesdays (Aug 31, Sept 7 & 14) @
7:15 pm meet at meet at Assiniboine Zoo at the furthest west parking
lot on Roblin to do the paved trails of
Assiniboine forest.

Thursdays ( Sept 2, 9 & 16) @
7:15 pm meet at St. Norbert Community Centre Parking lot.
We’ll skate
Pembina Hwy, Turnbull Drive and Red River Drive and return.

Please bring and wear all necessary protective gear - helmuts, wrist and
knee pads etc. I have skated all of these routes and while the road surfaces
are not bad, there is traffic and cracks, puddles, and tar lines which can
cause falls and injuries. It is each individual's responsibility to skate
within their ability, and to accept the inherent risks of these activities.
For beginner inline skaters, Bird's
Hill Park has the best road surface, and
the least traffic making this the best place to learn inline skating.
