34th Annual Pop
Sidwell Swim Meet:
 The
34th Annual Pop Sidwell Swim Meet was held last Saturday November 21,
2009. We had about 70 swimmers. The meet went very well. The result
sheets are here by age and by event . Thanks go to Bob Groff for organizing it all, and to all
the officials and timers who donated their time to make the event a
success. Some pictures of the event are here. You can download images by
right-clicking them - or ask me for a print. The banquet which followed
was held at the Caboto Centre. The food was great, and the company
better. Thanks to Carrie
Smith for organizing
the banquet. The silent auction went well, earning about $400.00 for the
club's coffers. Thank-you to all the lanes and members who donated prizes
for the silent auction, and to Francie Palmer
for organizing it.

Swimming Etiquette
Some
members have been observed spitting into the pool. Spitting in the
pool or the gutters is not allowed. This behaviour is not acceptable.
Members who do so will be spoken to about this.

Mid-Can Membership
2009-2010
The
club currently has 45 registered swimmers. That is good for this time of
year. The bad news is that there are more 1x & 2x per week members
and fewer 3x per week swimmers. A current membership list and membership
report is attached. Please check the list for errors. Let me know of any corrections
required. Colleen calculated that we need 7 more members to break even
this year. Please invite friends, family, and co-workers to try out the
club.

Required
Are
you interested in learning about different cultures? Heartland
International English School is looking for host families
for adult international students. In return for providing a bedroom and 3
meals per day you receive $600 every 4 weeks. If you're interested and
