MINUTES

Arising from the Minutes
- Pop
Sidwell. Scheduled for U of M Pool, Nov. 20, 2004.
Kathleen is
organizing the dinner at St. John’s College; she expects it to
cost about
$20.00 per person with a special price for children.
- Progressive
Dinner. The dinner will be
Saturday, May 15. Everything is
ready but only about 14 people have registered to date.
- T-shirts.
The order for shirts was briefly discussed. This issue will be discussed in detail
at the next meeting when Bob is back.
- Club
Poster. Tracy made a draft poster that was circulated and
discussed. Suggestions were made
about the revising it and creating another draft.
- New
Business
- Discussion
with Gary Thompson, Recreational Services, U of M. Norm, Mary Ann, and Roy met with Mr.
Thompson and a group from the university to discuss the viability of
Mid-Can and the possibility that the club could become more integrated
with the Recreational Services as it was in the past. This would help ensure the viability of
the club and may be beneficial to the university. Roy though the discussion was fruitful
and another meeting will be scheduled in about 3 weeks.
- Marketing. Kathleen has talked student in the Asper School of Buysiness
who is required to develop a marketing plan before he graduates. The student was a competitive swimmer
and coaches a club now, so he is interested in and knows about swimming
programs. Kathleen will continue
talking with him about developing a marketing plan for Mid-Can. She will
report back next meeting.
- Report
on Master Swimming Manitoba, April 28. Terry reported the items
discussed in this meeting. The
most important items was on the tentative meet dates: Pop Sidwell-Nov 20,
04; Pentathalon-March 5 or 12, 05;
Provincials-April 16, 17, 05.
