2014-2015 Membership Infomation

The contract for the pool rental for 2014-2015 has been finalized. The pool has had it's budget cut by 10% and has raised our pool rental fees by 16% - so unfortunately the executive had no choice but to increase our membership fees by approximately 10% for the coming year. Attached is a new membership package. Included is a new MSC waiver we would like you to sign and return with the membership form. Please:
• Complete the membership form (you can do this in Adobe Reader) then print and sign the form.
• Print, complete and sign the MSC waiver (page 3).
• Print, complete and sign the
Par-Q and You form (page 6). If you answered yes to any of the 7 questions please consult with your health care provider before beginning exercise, and if your health care provider is in agreement with your participation, have them sign and date the Statement of Activity (page 5).
• Then return the Membership Form, MSC Waiver, Par-Q form (with the Statement of Activity, if needed) and your cheque to Colleen, or any executive member.
If you have any questions please talk or email
Colleen (treasurer)Bob Modrcin (president), or myself.

Pop Sidwell 2014

This fall Mid Can Masters will again host the Pop Sidwell Swim Meet. This year will be the 39th year of the meet. The date is Saturday, November 22nd 2 PM - 6 PM. In order to continue the tradition, we need volunteers for all types of swim meet officials. The skills and knowledge needed are easily acquired at training sessions. We are however, usually very short of the following positions:
Clerk of Course / Data Entry
Stroke and Turn Judges; Two or more qualified
Meet Manager.
Should you have any questions about volunteering for the meet, Bob Modrcin or Bob Groff will be able to provide more information. Officiating will increase one's understanding of swimming techniques, and the sport in general. Most importantly it is fun! We hope you will join us in continuing the tradition of the Pop Sidwell Swim Meet.
