Pop Sidwell 2012

On Saturday, November 24th 2012, Mid Can Masters will host the 37th Annual Pop Sidwell Swim Meet. In order to continue the tradition we need volunteers for the meet officials. All types of officials are needed. The skills and knowledge needed are easily learned at training sessions. We are however usually very short of the following positions:
Clerk of Course / Data Entry
Stroke and Turn Judges; we need at least two qualified
Meet Manager.
The executive board is working with Swimming Manitoba to organize a few officials training sessions this fall. Should you have any questions about volunteering or the meet official clinics, Bob Modrcin or Bob Groff will be able to provide you more information. Officiating will furthers one's understanding of swimming techniques, and the sport in general. Most importantly it is fun and easier than actually swimming! We hope you will join us in continuing the tradition of the Pop Sidwell Swim Meet.

New Membership Package Attached

A package with the upcoming years membership forms is attached. The MSM fees have increased from $25.00 to $30.00. The executive has decided to keep our clubs portion of the fees unchanged - so the total fees are just $5.00 higher than last year. The fees are payable to Colleen Metge our treasurer before the end of September.

Frank Kennedy Building Construction

Sometime soon, the south entrance we now use for access to the Frank Kennedy building will be temporarily closing. New construction will begin in the parking lot by that entrance. Bozidar was able to speak with Jeff Gushulak about the closure of the south entrance to the Frank Kennedy Building. Jeff did not have a construction start date as they didn't have everything finalized. The construction is expected to last 2 - 3 years. All of the other available entrances will remain accessible.
